Payments & Checkout

Why did my bank ask me for a code during checkout?

When paying by Visa or Mastercard, your bank may trigger a security step called 3D Secure to confirm it's really you making the purchase. This is a standard fraud protection measure used by NZ banks like ASB, ANZ, BNZ, and Westpac.

Your bank will send a one-time verification code via SMS to your registered mobile number. Please enter this code as soon as you receive it — these codes typically expire within 5 minutes. If the code expires before you enter it, the payment will not go through and you'll need to restart checkout.

Tips for a smooth checkout:

  • Have your phone nearby when checking out so you can enter the SMS code quickly.
  • Make sure your bank has your correct mobile number registered.
  • If your payment fails, simply return to your cart and try again.
  • If you continue to have issues, contact your bank directly or reach out to us and we'll help you complete your order.
